Get to Know Dr. Reed David
Dr. Reed David has been practicing dentistry for two decades, and he still loves every second that he gets to spend with his patients. With a deep passion for being able to help others achieve their best overall and oral health, he feels blessed to have a craft that allows him to be a healthy and natural “smile maker.” He loves caring for others and seeing them happy, and his patients claim they feel that when they interact with him.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. David felt called to become a dentist early in high school. He grew up in a pharmacy watching his father care for people and got to experience the close connection and trust that he fostered in those relationships. It was uplifting for him to see, and he quickly knew that he wanted to build those types of connections in his future profession.
Dr. David also loves to work with his hands and think outside of the box, so dentistry truly was a natural fit for him. For him, the ability to develop strong bonds with his patients distinguished dentistry from all other medical professions he could choose. He also loved how he would have an opportunity to help reduce his patients’ fears and positively contribute to their self-esteem.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. David completed his undergraduate studies at East Tennessee State University and attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. Today, he continues to pursue clinical excellence, averaging around 100 continuing education hours a year.

He has been an active member of the American Dental Association as well as local and state dental associations over his career. His focus over the past five years has been on dental wellness, which is a discipline that focuses on looking at the root causes and risk factors of certain dental conditions in order to eliminate or drastically reduce the chances of patients developing them. Dr. David strongly believes in a philosophical foundation built upon proven, safe, and biocompatible strategies that connect oral health with systematic health. He is currently studying with the following organizations to seek the best ways to do so:
- International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology
- The Institute for Biological Dentistry
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. David is from a small rural town near Baton Rouge called New Roads, but he’s lived in many places and called several states his home, including Texas, Tennessee, Colorado, and South Carolina. His family consists of his high-school sweetheart, Leanne, their three children, and their wire-haired pointing griffon, Remi-Jo. They are a Christian family of faith that lives to honor God through loving and serving others in their church, community, jobs, and activities.
Outside of the office, you can find Dr. David pursuing excellence in his other craft, and that’s the art of brewing craft beer. He loves the science behind it, its history, and how people come together to build relationships through sharing a pint together. He enjoys cheering his kids on in their life pursuits, whether that’s at one of their sporting events or their extracurricular activities at school. He and his family love to travel and spend time in the mountains, snow skiing, biking, and hiking. Recently, they’ve fallen in love with paddle boarding and surfing, and Dr. David also enjoys college football and baseball, NHL hockey, going to the gym, fishing, reading, and smoking different types of foods!
